What's in the Works
Cosecha is proposed as a mixed-use, mixed-income development, located at the southeast corner of San Mateo Blvd and Kathryn Blvd. This mixed-use multigenerational housing community will also offer commercial space to support retail, small business growth, and/or nonprofit services. Adjacent to the Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) headquarters and International District Harvest Market (ID Market), the property offers bountiful opportunities for community connectedness, local entrepreneurship, and increased neighborhood economic mobility.
Emphasizing abundance and prosperity, Cosecha, which means "harvest" in Spanish, will reflect a community where abundance is defined by friendship, support, and the opportunity for everyone to flourish. It embodies the idea that a strong, interconnected neighborhood provides the foundation for growth and shared purpose. We envision grandparents raising grandchildren finding the care, encouragement, and tools they need to foster hope and opportunity for the next generation.

Cosecha is a place where every resident and visitor contributes to and benefits from a collective vision of prosperity, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. Just as a harvest brings people together to share and celebrate, Cosecha represents a place where diverse families and individuals come together to form a supportive and welcoming community.
Community and Resident Benefits
Cosecha will consist of approximately 92 units, 46 for seniors and 46 for families. All units will incorporate Universal Design and ADA accessibility and/or adaptability, both of which are needed to help residents maintain their housing stability as their mobility changes or their family mobility needs change. 85% of the units will be income-restricted to support the city’s need for housing affordability for residents with incomes at or below 80% of the AMI. The remaining 15% will allow for households making above 80% of the area’s median income.
Cosecha will offer 2,500 square feet of carefully planned retail space specifically designed to grow local entrepreneurship and support emerging small businesses. By prioritizing neighborhood-serving businesses and providing affordable, low risk commercial space, we will create both immediate construction jobs and long-term employment opportunities. This retail component will serve as an economic anchor, generating foot traffic and spending that benefits the entire commercial district while fostering the entrepreneurial ecosystem essential to community prosperity.
Cosecha will address the critical housing shortage facing working families and grandparents struggling to care for their grandchildren in Albuquerque. Beyond housing, the project integrates commercial opportunities and edible fruit green spaces that enhance neighborhood safety, walkability, and overall quality of life.
